Test digs have been completed along the main project route from north of the Port of Taipei's north dike to the Wazihwei sand dunes and Culture Park, and in the Bali Wastewater Treatment Plant (one archeological test dig is performed every 50m), and the test digs failed to reveal any cultural assets. A report concerning the archeo-logical test digs was approved by the Bureau of Cultural Affairs, New Taipei City on June 28, 2019.

An archeologist will be hired during the construction period to inspect various excavation projects. If any cultural sites are discovered during the construction period, in accordance with the Cultural Heritage Preservation Act, work will be stopped and salvage excavation performed, and a report will be made to the competent authority.
